Park 'Jardin de l'Europe'
Located to the east of the town (rue de Binsfeld, L-9912), the Jardin de l'Europe park was created in 2000 as part of the Interreg project ‘Gardens to Follow’, during which groups of students from the universities of Munich, Versailles and Edinburgh created themed gardens in what had previously been a meadow.
The original version of the Edinburgh student garden still exists, while the other two were demolished when the park was extended.
In 2003, on the occasion of the annual meeting of the 15 European rural municipalities, the path through the park was laid out. As a reminder of this meeting, each municipality present planted a tree typical of its country in the European arboretum.
In 2004, the gardens ‘Danse des Elfes’ by Guba & Sgard (D), the ‘Cercle magique’ by Jean-Pierre Braz (F) and the ‘Jardin des graminées’ were installed. In 2007, the ‘Plein les poches’ project by Phytholab (F) was completed at the same time as the construction of the retention basin in the park.
Since 2000, this green space has been developed into a veritable oasis of greenery. Walking paths, play areas and rest areas have been created. The planting of new hedges has created new spaces that offer new possibilities - long-term planting, installation of art objects or temporary gardens.
